Working at Height Equipment Inspections

Under the Provision and Use of Work Equipment Regulations 1998 (PUWER) and the Work at Height Regulations 2005 (WAHR) there is an obligation placed on all owners of access equipment to have the equipment fully inspected at regular intervals by a suitably qualified competent independent Inspector to ensure it is fit and safe for purpose

Global Platforms can offer an inspection service covering three main equipment categories

  • Mobile Scaffold Towers – manufactured from aluminium or fibreglass
  • Custom built platform access – manufactured from aluminium, fibreglass or steel
  • Ladders & Steps – aluminium, fibreglass or combined

Each inspection will be completed by one of our qualified competent inspectors. Inspections consist of a thorough on site examination of all working at height access equipment and followed up by a detailed written report of all equipment inspected. All items will be tagged, dated & registered on our system for the next inspection due date and a copy of the examination report will be issued for insertion in to your Quality Assurance system.

The table below reflects the recommended inspection period based on the frequency and type of use for each individual item of access equipment

Type of Use Description Recommended Inspection Interval
Light Infrequent maintenance and inspection work 52 Weeks
Medium Regular maintenance and inspection work 26 Weeks
Heavy Use in production areas for everyday activities and periodic work 12 Weeks
